Lower North Shore In-Home Podiatry Service
What is the Service?
The In-Home Podiatry Service is the newest service to be auspiced by Lane Cove Community Aid Service, to assist clients living on the Lower North Shore.
The program assists people who are unable to attend a podiatry clinic, by providing initial and ongoing professional foot care, if required, in their own homes. The program is funded by Home and Community Care (HACC).Who can receive this Service?
Frail older people, younger people with a disability, and their carers who are unable to visit a podiatry clinic, and who do not have a DVA card. The Service is provided to residents in the four Local Government areas of Lane Cove, Mosman, North Sydney and Willoughby.When is it available?
The Service is provided by registered Podiatrists, (appointed by our organisation), during normal business hours Monday to Friday. The service is not available after-hours or on weekends.How does it operate?
After being assessed by our organisation as eligible to receive the service, a registered Podiatrist will arrange the initial consultation in the home and then determine whether further treatment is necessary. If ongoing foot care is required, appointments will be made by the Podiatrist for approximately every eight weeks. The Podiatrist will also advise LCCAS of the date and time of each visit.Do I have to pay to receive this service?
Soon after each visit our organisation will issue an invoice to the client for the agreed contribution. The amount (presently $15 per visit) can be reviewed at any time if requested by the client. The client pays no money to the Podiatrist.How can I request this Service?
Anyone can make a referral to the Service by contacting Lane Cove Community Aid Service during office hours Monday to Friday on 9427 6425. LCCAS will then determine eligibility for these services. Normally there is a waiting list to recieve this service.
